Bachelor’s Programme in Acting

KGSKÅ | Degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts | 180 Credits

At Malmö Theatre Academy, we provide thorough training using practical acting tools. Our aim is to educate actors with extensive knowledge and great freedom both in their physical and cognitive expressions, who can meet all the diverse challenges presented by theatre today.

The teaching is organised as a coherent whole from the first semester to the last. It covers the subjects of stage performance, movement, voice and text, music, and song. These subjects are taught both individually and integrated with each other. Teaching is carried out on a one-to-one basis and in groups. On the theoretical parts of the programme, our ambition is to investigate, formulate and present how different aspects of the theatre can combine theory and practice in interaction with the age in which we live.

We use practical acting tools such as “the method of physical action” and work with etudes - exercises - to gradually acquire this competence alongside the growing artistic experience. Semester five is an internship in one of the swedish theatres.

From fall semester 2024, the programme is lengthen with two voluntary semesters before the last year. This is a way to offer the students more time for practicing acting in front of the camera and to make own artistic projects.
