Improvisation och avsikt: Mot en teori om improvisatorisk kognition

Sven Bjerstedt

The study of improvisational acts and the types of cognition at work in such acts can make valuable contributions to our general understanding of the human mind and human action.

An improvisational stance can be said to be central to all human action, not least to oral conversation. This project is based on the idea that the complexity of musical improvisation can make this specific activity a suitable lens through which questions of great general importance for cognitive research can be explored and interpreted.
