Ditte is a trained stage director and has, throughout her career, combined artistic work with leadership roles in the performing arts and higher education. She has previously served as department chair of the Malmö Theatre Academy, artistic director of Vendsyssel Teater, and chair of the Project Support Committee for the Performing Arts at the Danish Arts Foundation. In addition to her leadership roles, she has been active as a performing artist and director.
In connection with the nomination, the board of The Danish National School of Performing Arts highlights Ditte’s extensive experience in artistic higher education and her broad perspective on the development of the performing arts field.
For Malmö Theatre Academy, the appointment is a testament to the strong expertise and development efforts at the institution.
– Ditte’s new role is very gratifying and a recognition of the expertise found at the academy. At the same time, I see great opportunities to further strengthen the collaboration between our educational institutions in Malmö and Copenhagen. This can create new and valuable opportunities for both students and staff in the future, says Fredrik Haller, department chair at the Malmö Theatre Academy.
The position also strengthens the already close ties between performing arts programs in the Öresund region. The hope is that it will help create even better conditions for future collaborations between Malmö and Copenhagen in the areas of education, research, and artistic development.
