The aim of ArtCollab is to enable artists, artistic researchers, and researchers from other scientific disciplines to learn from one another in an open dialogue and exploratory environment. By bringing together artistic and scientific practices, we aim to foster interdisciplinary thinking in which scientific knowledge and results meet art's search for unique perspectives on societal challenges. We are now announcing the opportunity for project grants of up to SEK 150,000 (including overhead costs). We will approve up to four applications if the reference group finds suitable candidates.
What kind of projects are we looking for?
We are looking for projects that aim to understand and describe what a changing world will mean for us as human beings. The projects should address the significant challenges of our time. Our hope is that the projects will create a deeper understanding of the existential conditions of human beings and how we experience and interpret our lives in a world where the conditions for human experience are constantly changing.
Criteria
At least one artist or artistic researcher from the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts and one researcher from another scientific field at Lund University must form the basis of the project. Otherwise, you are free to invite more researchers and artists (even if they do not work at Lund University) to the project to complement the project team.
The project must lead to some form of artistic presentation or artefact (script, video essay, rehearsal, exhibition, book, audio work, pitch deck for film/TV or similar).
We also encourage you to use the project to generate preliminary results for future joint research applications.
What can you apply for?
The grant can be used for your own salaries, if this facilitates the implementation of the project.
The grant may be used for costs related to the described research, such as meetings, travel, production costs and materials, as well as costs for external participants.
What do we contribute?
An environment/infrastructure where we share experiences, methods and results.

The text should provide an overview of the project's purpose and implementation. The application should be forward-looking and include a concise yet complete description of the idea. We would like to receive your application by 15 December, and we will make a decision by 12 January.

Applications will be assessed by members of the Faculty of Fina andf Performing Arts, previous participants, researchers from other faculties and (if consultation from different artistic fields is required) practising artists. Decisions on which projects will receive funding will be made by 12 January at the latest.
