In November 2025, doctoral students from the Malmö Theater Academy participated in an encounter with researchers in the field of performing arts from around the world.
Doctoral students Iury Salustiano Trojaborg and Tanja Hylling Diers from the Theater Academy participated in the three-day meeting for researchers at the beginning of their research careers. The meeting was led by SOL-based researcher Duška Radosavljević from the University of Arts and Sciences in Târgu Mureș, Romania.
The meeting, which focused on conversation as a method in artistic research, aimed to address the inherent solipsism in arts and humanities research and to try to establish new methods for meaningful collaborative knowledge production across borders and languages.
This fruitful exchange resulted in the formation of the Transnational Alliance of Artist Researchers in Theatre and Performing Arts, with participants from the following countries: Denmark, Sweden, Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Serbia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Chile, and Brazil.
The issue #6 of the Journal Matter - The Materiality of Artistic Research in Theatre and Performance entitled Collaboration and Alliances, will contain contributions from these participants, tackling the outcomes of this encounter. It will be issued in the second semester of 2026.
