Zsófi Rebeka Kozma: 115 SEK per hour - before taxes

“ Youth pub. Total lack of service except for the security guard. Ok price. Order and pick up at the bar!!!” (Google Review, 2024)
I approached my bar job as an Artist-in-Residence position, gathering statistics and stories.
While working in a bar on Möllenvangstorget, a historically significant site for Malmö’s labor movements, I discovered some gaps in the so-called “Nordic model”. I was not the only Eastern European working there, among immigrants, students or immigrant students. This is not the only bar that is not in a union.
I will share some of my experiences and my research through this data-driven performance. I’d love to see students, teachers, employees, employers, trade union representatives and anyone who goes to bars in the audience.
