PARKLIFE - a sound event
Författare
Summary, in English
This event took place physically in two Copenhagen parks in august 2023, where audiences meet at designated locations, bringing their smartphones and headphones, participating in what we in LIMINAL have defined as a “sound event”. At specific scheduled times audiences were able to connect their smartphones to a website: www.parklife.nu with build in radio-transmitters, allowing the participants to have an audio track played back simultaneously.
The overall concept was to create a type of audio-walk that primarily consists of instruction to the audience, so to essentially ask the audience to “perform” the piece while experiencing it.
In the seminar Erik will discuss the effect of simultaneity and group-dynamics created by this event and discuss the type of narrator that emerged. The narrator that “tells the audience what to do and how to think”, but at the same time questions his/her right to do so.
