We have invited visual artist Maj Hasager, performing artist Linn Hilda Lamberg and professor at Department of Gender Studies Helle Rydstrom to discuss how to approach the politicized body in relation to art, identity politics, and activism. Food pedagogue Cornelia Altgård responds to the discussion by creating a meal for the politized body that we will share after the talk. PhD and director John Hanse and performing artist and associate professor at Malmö Theatre Academy Sofie Lebech will be the hosts of the night.
Thinking Together is a new format in which members from the research department at Malmö Theatre Academy invite researchers and artists to think together in a public setting. Thinking Together: The Politicized Body is the first event.

Bios
Helle Rydström is Professor at the Department of Gender Studies at Lund University, Sweden. She has a background in Social Anthropology and International Development Studies. Her research explores entanglements between gendered crises, precariousness, and harm with a special focus on Vietnam. Rydstrom has been the PI of plenty of funded research projects on Asia. She has been a visiting scholar, for instance, at The Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality, New York University, USA; Department of Anthropology, Hanoi University, Vietnam; The Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Germany; and the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. Rydstrom is President of the Society forCritical Studies of Crisis (SCSC).
Linn Hilda Lamberg is a director, a performer and one of the artistic leaders of Poste Restante. Her work is trans-disciplinary and deals with difficult personal dilemmas, internal conflicts and shameful desires. It invites the visitors to actively engage in ethical, existential and political issues. Poste Restante has been presented at festivals such as Salzburger Festspiele, Baltic Circle and Santiago a Mil. Linn Hilda is currently a PhD candidate at Stockholm University of the Arts, researching how immersive and participatory practices can post useful questions concerning the directors role.
Maj Hasager is a Danish artist based in Copenhagen. She studied photography and fine art in Denmark, Sweden, and the UK. Her work deals with power structures, identity, memory, architecture, and the construction of history, looking at how these interlinked phenomena are interpreted and represented culturally and spatially. Her artistic approach is research based and interdisciplinary, and she works predominantly with text, sound, video, and photography. Maj Hasager is the head of department at Malmö Art Academy.
Cornelia Altgård uses food and farming/gardening as tools in a social context. Through communal cooking,meal sharing and working alongside each other in the garden shecreates opportunities for different types of meetings. Meetings between people as well as making the individual and the group learn about the food by cooking and eating and how to relate to nature through our our stomachs as well as our other senses.
Sofie Lebech is a performing artist, researcher and teacher. She studied acting, performance and literature in Copenhagen, London, Paris and Buenos Aires and did her artistic PhD project in Copenhagen. Herartistic practice focuses on reenactment of historical and bodily traumas, autobiographical testimonies and the meeting between fiction and reality. Lebech is associate professor at Malmö Theater Academy.
John Hanse is a performing art director and artistic researcher based in Malmö. Author of the book Lärostycken (Learning Plays, co-written with Henrik Bromander, 2022). He is, since 2022, doctor in artistic research in theatre from Malmö Theatre Academy.
